Stainless steels

Stainless steels are steels whose main characteristic is the high resistance to corrosion, which gives Chrome (Cr) in its composition. In order for a common steel to be stainless, it must have a minimum Chromium of 10.5% in its composition, this percentage is necessary to be able to form the passive layer of Chromium Oxide (Cr02) that protects it from corrosive agents. In addition to the formation of the passive layer that gives chromium to common steel, its affinity with oxygen (02) prevents iron corrosion.
